UV OZONE LAMPS FOR KITCHEN EXHAUST

Ozone is a powerful oxidant and bactericide which destroys organic molecules in the air. It has a very short life span and in ambient temperatures, it will only last 20 to 30 minutes before it return to ‘normal’ oxygen. It is a suicidal molecule; it looks for a contaminant to attack, “oxidises” it, destroying itself in the process. UV Ozone is a scientific breakthrough in odour and grease control, the most effective method known today for eliminating unpleasant odours, grease and oil mist in processing areas or in hotel rooms, hospitality and food establishments.
UV Ozone Lamps operating at 187nanometers, without the titanium dioxide coating produces ozone. The intense irradiation produced by the UV lamp oxidizes light oil mists, keeping the kitchen exhaust duct cleaner.

Units are designed for easy mounting to existing or new exhaust ducts. The ballast housing and other components are kept out of the airstream. Lamps are can be easily replaced via the ballast housing. Multiple units can be connected and linked to a separate Control Console for interlocking operations with the exhaust fan. The Control Console is an optional item
DUO units should be installed as near to the cooking hoods as possible, or as far as possible from the discharge outlet, so as to give the longest possible contact time with the cooking exhaust. For optimum performance, the contact time for air treatment in the duct should be approximately 0.1 to 0.2 seconds or longer if possible. Charcoal filters may be installed at the last stage to mop up residue ozone.

The Ozone Chambers are made of stainless steel material. The UV Ozone lamps are housed within the housing (chamber) while the ballast and other electronic and electrical components housed in another enclosure attached to the main housing, away from the air stream.
The Ozone Chambers are installed along the exhaust duct, preferably upstream of the exhaust fan, for maximum contact time.
The models COS-5-90 (5 x UVC Ozone lamps of 846mm) and COS-10-90 (10 UVC Ozone lamps) units should be installed as near to the cooking hoods as possible, or as far as possible from the discharge outlet, so as to give the longest possible contact time with the cooking exhaust.
